Pit bull hater Phyllis Daugherty blows hot air and false information

Phyllis Daugherty rolled and curled her tinted hair and applied her thick layer of Merle Norman pancake to appear on CBSLA Channel Two news. What she had to say was filled with error and out and out lies. Daugherty, director of a group called "Animal Issues Movement" which conjures up alt-right pro-Trump racist blogs, began to rant like a banshee about the dogs she really hates, pit bulls:

"pit bulls have a high rate of attack and a high rate of killing people and animals"

"the problem is they're an unpredictable breed"

                                             ......and this one "they are genetically geared and wired to attack"





Where is this 'spokesperson' of hatin' on dogs actually getting her information? Dogsbite.org which uses debunked and faked numbers and has been totally debunked by experts in the field? Or maybe Merritt Clifton who writes a pit bull hate blog and pretends to be some sort of backwoodsy scholar. Merritt and his bed-feller, Beth, who hate pit bulls so much, they killed their own pet dog, Trooper.

Where do these people come from? Don't answer that. We do not want to know and certainly do not need any more hatin' haters.

According to Daugherty's Linkedin page, she has spent 18 years "specializing in training' on companion animal and pet overpopulation topics ranging from spay/neuter (where she has some sort of link to a profit business) and 'adoption and animal cruelty issues, especially dog fighting and cockfighting' .. don't even want to go there. From her spewed misinformation, we hope she is referring to 'fowl birds' and not 'foul genitalia.'

Locals in the greater Los Angeles area are calling for a boycott of Phyllis Daugherty. If that means hold your ears and run for the hills, be sure to take your dog with you if you hear anything else coming out of her mouth like froth from a rabid animal.

We have been rescuing pit bulls here at Reunion Rescue, home of the world's friendliest pit bulls, for over 20 years with never so much as a nail scratch. There is very obviously a right way and wrong way to do things and we would strongly recommend not to heed the advice of THIS Animal Issues Movement director.

They are being surrendered because the owner is no longer allowed to have both in the home. He received them both from a breeder 2 years ago.

Socialization: They are very friendly and outgoing with strangers. They lived in a home with small children and played well with them. They get very excited when they hear or see other dogs.They play exuberantly with each other and are very vocal when they play. (growl, jump and mouth each others faces.) They have not been around cats. They have not bitten anyone or any other animal.
Behavior: Rocky and Balboa are always walked together 2 or 3 times a day. They love to go to the dog run and play with each other and other dogs. They enjoy baths and being hosed down in the street. They are well trained and according to the owner, allow to have their food bowl, treats, and toys taken away from them, even by the children in the home.

For a new family to know: Rocky and Balboa are described as friendly and playful. They may appear big but are cuddlly and affectionate. The owners favorite thing about them is that they are good listeners and are protective.

Rescue only - Not doing well in the shelter environment. Seems to be acting out. Remember his world has been turned upside down!

This poor boo is a "project dog" who volunteers are working with due to his fear. However, the poor kid has been sick and he isn't getting better. He is on Doxy, so hopefully we will see an improvement, but if not, he will have a medical deadline. Deadline or not, he really should be out in order to get better. He looked miserable today with nasal discharge and labored breathing.

He also has significant hair loss and the skin scrape was negative for parasites.

A lie "in a good cause" has become the bane in intelligently responding to a problem that needs rational practical solutions.
This one reporter in this one incident involving the issue of animal shelters and control is a big enough problem BUT...

Director of imedia ethics terrifies Reunion Rescue adopters with threats

Reunion Rescue adopters are terrified regarding threats from imedia - the group which shut down American Pit Bull Examiner and had Reunion Rescue director fired.

According to concerned Reunion Rescue adopters, Rhonda Shearer has stated she and her group are going after Reunion Rescue.

According to the adopters, Shearer made accusations of hoarding, animal abuse and neglect along with veiled threats of investigation in her/imedia

Two police reports have been filed and one with the Travis County Sheriff's Department for harassment.

Should any Reunion Rescue adopters receive threats from imedia, Rhonda Shearer or any of the pit bull hate groups posting on the imedia page, notify us at once.

The authorities are aware of this harassment and will deal with offenses accordingly. Hundreds of posts, shares and likes have been registered on the site, many belonging to suspicious individuals belonging to groups with anti-pit bull leanings. This terrible effort to shut down Reunion Rescue, a pit bull rescue group with nearly two decades of exemplary rescue efforts and hundreds of dogs and animals placed in wonderful homes, is illegal and harassment.

Please sign and share the PETITION demanding an investigation into these events at once!

Balboa killed in NYC while imedia continues bashing campaign

After publishing the debunked lie-filled article which resulted in American Pit Bull Examiner being shut down, the imedia page posted their piece with the foaming at the mouth comment, "Examiner.com fires reporter who published fake pit bull story. Reporter becomes unglued after entire archive deleted!"

Pit bull hate groups, called 'foamers' by animal rights activist, began sharing the piece among their frightening followers, many of whom belong to groups which adopt pit bulls from shelters and kill them. The number of animal killers involved with this imedia campaign is unknown, however extreme and terrifying.

Clifton has quietly changed some of the outrageous false claims in his blog, like calling a Great Pyrenees a pit bull and correcting the false statements about Reunion Rescue dogs at Spindletop. While attacking American Pit Bull Examiner for an error about the time Skye was fostered or adopted by imedia head, Rhonda Shearer.

As this affair progresses, we shall see other lies debunked, such as the intern or reporter (depending on which way the wind blows) Katie Kausch's false claims in the non-factual imedia piece she co-wrote with Rhonda Shearer. Such blatant imedia mis-representations such as Skye and Milo being located at the Harlem Shelter when there no Harlem Shelter even exists is only one example of ludicrous claims in their piece that resulted in American Pit Bull Examiner's thousands of life-saving articles being removed from the internet.

Sadly, dogs like Balboa die in the process. Yesterday, Pit Bulls and Other Animals wrote a blog on Balboa and his brother Rocky at Manhattan Shelter, the very same shelter where Skye and Milo were located before they were fostered or adopted, depending on conflicting claims by Kausch and Shearer in their imedia article.

Imedia and Amsterdog thread has been posting for weeks about their victory killing American Pit Bull Examiner column. American Pit Bull Examiner column and two other titles have helped save thousands of dogs over the past 5 and 1/2 years.

Amsterdog's initial post which stated Skye was in her new 'foster' home has recently changed their post to read 'This morning SKYE was on the TBD List. Now she's sittin' pretty in her new home. Thank you, new mama Rhonda!" This posting was altered after the new mama, Rhonda attributed the 'accident' to typographical error on her imedia page claiming Amsterdog meant to type 'adopted' instead of 'foster'.

The Amsterdog thread still reflects many conflicting statements, even referring to Skye as 'Star' while asking their Amsterdog posters to adopt both Skye and Milo...that after claiming Skye was adopted and American Pit Bull Examiner story is 'fake' and the author a 'liar,' strong claims from pro-advocates like Ken Foster of Sula Rescue who claims on the page that NYC shelter system saves 9 out of every 10 dogs.

Balboa wasn't one of these lucky dogs as so claimed by the posters like Foster on the imedia page which has become a 24/7 watering hole for so-called pro-advocates and pit bull hate groups.

Yesterday's blog didn't help Balboa according to the Gone Dogs Page on NYC's Urgent Death Row Dogs page which features actual dogs in the NYC system on a daily basis minus 'typos' and minus hate groups.

For many years, American Pit Bull Examiner has written life-saving articles about dogs like Balboa, many from the NYC Shelter System. Many of these dogs were saved. Sadly, the column is dead today, dead and gone based on untruths perpetuated by imedia group and promoted by huge rescue efforts like BAD RAP, Sula Foundation and Amsterdog side by side with pit bull hate groups like Craven Desires, dogsbite.org and the Cliftons who killed a pit bull.

Another Manhattan pit bull died yesterday, Balboa. He is remembered here along with Everglade and Archy where we fight hard to save lives day after day, year after year.

Imedia intern/reporter tries to join Reunion Rescue

After sabotaging the funding source of Reunion Rescue, Katie Kausch, the imedia ethics reporter dash intern, tried to join our pit bull rescue.

This is terrifying, considering the massive pit bull hate groups who endorse the lie-filled articles written by intern/reporter Katie Kausch and Rhonda Shearer.

We do not know Katie Kausch and first heard of her when she approached American Pit Bull Examiner by email (archived) representing herself as a reporter and leaving imedia ethics contact information.

Imedia ethics then tried to claim the girl was only a 17 year old intern and the contact was her private phone number.

The imedia page is host to known pit bull groups such as Beth Clifton who, along with longtime pit bull hate group blogger-husband Merritt Clifton, write pro-pit bull annihilation blogs and are the darlings of Craven Desires/Dawn James, dogsbite.org and hundreds of other pit bull hate groups which are sharing the imedia (Kausch/Shearer) article along with another inaccurate rage-motivated piece by the Cliftons on their anti-pit bull blog. The Cliftons killed their own pit bull and collect money to fund their efforts to shut down groups like Reunion Rescue and American Pit Bull Examiner which has saved thousands of dogs.

Followers and promoters of these anti-pit groups have staged country-wide pit bull adoptions to save
death row dogs and kill innocent animals that resemble pit bulls.

Why would any 'journalist' jump into bed with these groups who kill innocent dogs?

Even more alarming, why is imedia ethics trying to join our rescue group with 20 years of saving lives and never so much as a nail scratch?

Reunion Rescue has the reputation of housing the 'world's friendliest pit bulls' and the thought of one of these monsters managing to get their hands on our dogs, or any dog is horrifying!!

Please sign the petition asking for an investigation into the suspicious takedown of American Pit Bull Examiner and this entire frightening affair.

Hate comments from Craven Desires

These and other terrifying comments from the pit bull hate group Craven Desires / Dawn James (not the real name) who are trying to instigate a visit to our refuge.

These are people connected to groups like "Inside the Dark Sick Minds of Pit Bull Owners" who disguise themselves and adopt pit bulls to kill........

We have filed reports with the Austin Police Department and Travis County Sheriff's Department should any suspicious and frivolous illegal attempts be made to invade our property. The authorities do not smile on false reports which fall under the same laws as calling in a fake bomb scare or fire alarm.
