Alba has quickly become a staff and volunteer favorite at the shelter. She is the total package with good looks and a happy go lucky personality. She is possibly hearing impaired and usually needs to physically awakened from her naps. She is sweet, playful and gives great kisses.
She particularly loves to romp in the play yard with both her human and doggy friends. She was found running as a stray and is looking for a family to call her own.

This little pittie is a bundle of energy! He is just a baby, about 4 months old and is desperate for a home of his own. He came to the shelter with two of his siblings, who have been adopted out; unfortunately, Malorn was just so very excited to see one of our kennel staff that he accidentally pierced her lip when he bowled her over for kisses.
He has been at the shelter on mandatory 10-day quarantine and is due to be released tomorrow. The bite was of no malicious intent, but he is available for rescue only.
With a little bit of puppy obedience and a home environment where he can romp and play properly - he will be a total dreamboat! He does have some kind of skin condition on the side of his head, which has been worsening over the past few days. We're not quite sure if he's been rubbing on the side of the kennel or irritating the site himself. We do not have a vet in tomorrow to examine the area, but recommend that it be monitored and the area be scraped to rule of Demodex. It appears to be localized to the side of his face, and nothing similar was noted on the other puppies.

Gee Gee is a beautiful blonde Shepherd mix. She is starting to become stressed in her kennel, mostly jumping and pacing in boredom. She much rather prefers to be outside on a walk, and quite likes having her chin scratched!
She is a great dog that needs a family that will give her the attention and structure she deserves. Before she came to the shelter, Gee Gee was kept in a crate the majority of the time, and the family was agitated that she jumped the fence when left outside. She is reported to be good with other people and children.

This handsome lug is sweet and mellow. He's quite the gentleman and walks nicely on a leash. He was dog-tested and did very well off-leash with a female. He was tolerant of high energy dogs in his space and greets and corrects appropriately.
On-leash with a male, he was more unsure of himself, but we can't really blame him for preferring to have a girlfriend! He was found stray in a vacant house and is available for rescue immediately!

This man has been looking for over two months for these dogs' owner(s) without any luck. He is from Connoquenessing (near Butler), PA and is now trying to re-home the bonded pair.
"These two sweethearts just showed up at my house today, lost. Both appear to be some form of collie mixes. The larger is a fixed male; the smaller is a female. I live in Connoquenessing, PA off of Shannon Road. If anyone knows who may have lost these dogs please contact me. Both are very friendly and very attached to each other. I have contacted the Humane Society they have no reports of them missing. It looks like they have been running for quite some time. I wish I could keep them but I already have two that don't get along with them. Please help and repost."
Free Blue Tick Beagle mix from family near Pittsburgh, Pennysylvania

Phoenix is CRITICAL... he will be kept quiet over the next several days at the vet while they try to get his GI system to start working to absorb food again. After he gets a little stronger we will have to deal with the HEARTWORMS... HE IS FULL OF THEM... If you can contribute to his care which will be extensive please contact my vet.

7/27/13 - This is PHOENIX... in hopes that he will see better days... I will not comment to each photo other than to say he is at my vets now and we are trying to get him to survive because he gave me "pittie kisses" all the way there and he is a very sweet sweet boy... he will be on a "parvo pup" type diet for the next few days even though he is probably about 4 years old... we do not KNOW if he was neglected or just "got away"... we do know he needs help... he is completely ANEMIC and his little emaciated body is swimming with heartworms. and other worms... his body does not want to process food because he is so starved... If he survives over the next few days I would love to see him go to a rescue and get the care he desperately needs...
