Amazing rescue: pulls needles out of three dogs being killed

In Palmdale, California: This one person stepped up to the plate to save three dogs being killed and needs our help.

She received "a call today from a girl who was crying. Her brother had decided to put his (6) 3 yr old Pit Bulls to sleep. He cannot keep them anymore, and has been evicted due to them. He did not want to take them to the shelter, and have them die there alone. Our local shelter is the worse shelter in LA County, and is 70% full of Pit Bulls at any given time."

She "literally got her to pull the needles out of the dogs as they were already at the vet, being prepped. Please help me save them, we only have a few days."

This good person is begging for help.

Conan - male - Fawn - He is a very lovable boy.  He likes to take long walks, run, jump and play.  He loves to chew on rawhide bones during his "leisure time". He enjoys treats and is willing to take them when given the following commands: sit, shake, high five, come and "easy" when accepting food. Just like any dog he loves getting hugs and gives lots of kisses. He would fit best with people who don't have any other pets.
Conan

Sheera

Sheera - female - Fawn - She loves her "blankies"(blankets, sheets, towels to lay on).  She likes to take naps.  She loves playing fetch and jumps really high.  She likes to take walks and loves getting belly rubs.  She gives kisses and loves getting hugs. She is allergic to certain dry foods (no Purina brand) but loves snacks like: tortilla chips, popcorn, saltines, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, carrots, peas, applesauce and white rice.  Not to mention she loves boiled chicken! She is a very sweet girl.

Vespa

Vespa - female - Gray/White - She has a very unique bark when she's hungry. Taking long walks and dancing to Maroon Five are her favorite things to do.  She is a very calm and loving girl.  She loves getting hugs and likes her ears rubbed. She enjoys chew toys and loves to drink water. At night she likes to sleep with a blanket or sheet.

Honey

Honey - female - Fawn/White - She got her name because her personality and color.  She is a sweet girl and she likes to lick on honey. She enjoys taking long walks and playing fetch outside.  Chewing on rawhide bones or a chew toy is the best way she likes to spend her time.

Gigi

Gigi - female - Gray/White chest  - She is a very lovable girl.  She likes to play catch and fetch. She loves drinking water and tends to sleep at your feet or next to you.  She likes sleeping with a blanket at night (if she is by herself) and enjoys getting her belly rubbed.  You know she likes you when she shows you her belly. Playing with chew toys and enjoying her "nap time" are the best ways she spends her day.

Zena
Xena - female - Gray - She loves giving kisses even "french kisses".  =) She is very lovable and enjoys taking walks outside.  She loves chewing on rawhide bones or chew toys. She likes getting her belly rubbed and loves to scratch her back on the carpet or grass.  She also clips her own nails.  She does not like the nail clipper sound.  At night, she enjoys sleeping on a blanket, sheet or towel.  She will request it by barking a certain way.

These are family pets and due to breed specific legislation, they were being euthanized. How in the world did California annex to Denver all of a sudden?

Please help by sharing their story and offering homes, rescue, a few bucks or whatever it takes to save these beautiful dogs:

Peninsula Humane Society condemns pet pocket pittie to death

This adorable 8 year old 'pocket pittie' is the latest dog who has been condemned to die by Peninsula Humane Society. She was saved from being destroyed by the multi-million dollar facility which acts as the county dog pound and takes its job seriously when it comes to euthanizing.

From Craigslist:

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/scz/for/4444578701.html

"*FREE* gorgeous pocket pit bull pug mix. Yes, she's little at 30 lbs (santa cruz)

This is Molly. She's an 8 year old, 30 pound, pit bull pug mix. She's has a sweet disposition and aims to please. She is currently in a foster home but will be returned to the shelter if she doesn't find a home within the week where she will be euthanized. ~PLEASE~ if you or someone you know would like gorgeous sweet well behaved dog contact me A.S.A.P.

A little more about her: she is originally from Oahu. She's been on the mainland for less than a year. Her owner had her shipped here without having a stable home for herself. The owner couch surfs and can not find an affordable home that allows dogs so she dropped her off at the Burlingame SPCA. Molly does not like little dogs or cats and shows aggressive behavior because of this the SPCA has deemed her unfit to adopt and wanted to put her down. I, the foster, picked her up last minute and am having her professionally trained.

She can now be leashed around small dogs without snapping but I would NOT recommend a home for her with small animals. She is great with big dogs or dogs her size and shines around kids and people!! She is not hyper but loves walks. She loves being around people but loves to sleep for hours on end.

She is up on all her shots, has never been sick, and has a clean record. She does have some pain in her joints from arthritis and it's something she's always experienced. She is house trained and can "hold it" all day, she knows all her basic commands: sit, down, stay as well as few more. Another week in training and she will be extremely obedient.

DON'T let this sweet girl be put down! She deserves a nice family and a nice family deserves a dog like Molly!! 650-580-900 five"

What is happening at this huge facility which pays its director a half million a year and throws in a free million dollar Burlingame residence? Director Kenneth While blogs about loving animals, but each day we hear about innocent dogs like Molly being euthanized at this gigantic San Mateo institution entitled "humane society." Did we not get the memo on the new definition for 'humane' or what?

Please share this story and keep an eye on Peninsula Humane Society and the poor animals who don't wind up in Kenneth White's blog but dead in a plastic bag.

Peninsula Humane Society tries to murder two family pets

This hardworking teenager is the latest citizen to suffer Denver-style murder tactics by the Peninsula Humane Society in San Mateo, California. I've written multiple articles and stories about this high-kill facility which operates as the 'dog pound' for San Mateo County.

When a couple of local animal rescues saw the following post, they jumped into high gear to keep the high kill facility from killing two more family pets.

"OMG MEGA URGENT!!!! Please can someone help or this whole village step in and help as much as possible to save this baby's life TODAY???? 4-24-14 at 4pm any later than that they will put her to sleep!!!!!!!!!!!!"

The young man was scared to death having been threatened by Peninsula Humane that his dogs were to be killed. He was so frightened, he posted the dogs on Craigslist as free in order to save their lives:

"Craigslist Post:

FREE DOBERMAN (san mateo) CA
PLEASE HELP MY DOG

my Doberman/pitbull has been captured by the aspca when she got away one night when I was on a trip unfortunetly they capture my 9 yr old boxer too (I love her to death)

I could only pay the fee for my boxer to get out witch is $90 (im paying for)
but my biggest concern is that since they have been there for a while tthey want to charge me $150 just for my Doberman and if we don't nothing about it my 4-24-14 by 4:00 they will put her to sleep

I cant afford to take both of them out so im posting this asking anyone out there if you want the Doberman for the impound fee of $150

but the final day would be at 4-24-14 at 4pm any later than that they will put her to sleep
the Doberman is less than a year old she doesn't like cats but she is very sweet to kids, and other dogs please reply as soon as possible

http://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/pet/4437862784.html"

Literally working with only seconds to spare, the young man, a Brazilian teenager, had gone to the 'shelter' to say his goodbyes when local boxer rescuers saw his Craigslist post and kindly offered to pay the exorbitant fees to keep Peninsula Humane from killing these two family pets.

This young man was so grateful, he is working off the fees in his spare time as a local waiter. Wouldn't it be nice if all Americans with 9,000 dogs dying in shelters daily worked so hard to save our own pets?

And how about the director of the high kill Peninsula Humane Society pulling down a half million a year and living high on the hog in million dollar Burlingame digs? Wouldn't it be nice if some of those dollars could be spent trying to save a couple of lives for a change?

This story is heartwrenching and those who helped this young man had tears running down their faces to see someone who loves his pets so dearly and willing to do anything in his power to save them.

On a side note, a couple was overheard at a local market in San Mateo County recently discussing Peninsula Humane stormtrooping into their home and illegally seizing their two pet pit bulls for no reason. To redeem their pets, the couple had to pay $1500 dollars. What is going on in the Peninsula? Has Kory Nelson, the gestapo from Denver and responsible for over 4000 pet deaths moved in?

Thankfully, this young man's pets were spared if only in the nick of time. What about the others whose owners don't have the necessary funds to save when PHS slams the doors on their dogs?

Horrifying.

Liars, lawyers, death, abuse: the dog killers of Spindletop

Abuse at Spindletop
It's been nearly a year and a half since nearly 300 dogs were confiscated from the horror hotel known as 'Spindletop Refuge.' Not one of the 'players' have been punished for their gruesome behavior, however, one person has stepped forward to try and help the many who entrusted animals to the torture den masquerading as a shelter.

Anyone who hasn't heard of Leah Purcell and the operation known as Spindletop Refuge can still read about the operation on the web under a new moniker Texas Canine-Equine Solutions. The site promotes "connecting people with their animal loved ones for 27 years," but that promise didn't come true for Reunion Rescue's Stella.

Although told that Stella had 'been adopted to a wonderful woman in Dallas,' Reunion Rescue asked repeatedly for contact information for the 'wonderful woman in Dallas.' Each day, Leah Purcell had a new reason for being unable to furnish the information. Her computer was broken, misplaced the application and a million other excuses, all of them lies. Although Reunion Rescue has an especially strict foster to adopt program, Purcell found a way to navigate as only a slick criminal and con-artist can do.

The failing Reunion Rescue had as did hundreds, if not thousands, of others was to believe the garbage printed about the place.....all lies. For years, Leah Purcell fooled a lot of us. She fooled Best Friends, Montgomery County Shelter, courts of law where Purcell was called to testify as an expert witness. For years, Leah Purcell and Spindletop were considered the end-all be-all of animal rescue and rehabilitation. My crime was in wanting to believe she cared as much about the dogs as I did. I believe others fell under the same spell of this witch as I did, hoping there was a fairy tale future for the many innocent dogs we placed in her care.

With a slick South Texas law school lawyer, Zandra Anderson, who bills herself as 'Texas Dog Lawyer' to run interference, Leah Purcell never did a day of time for her criminal activity. Anderson has led trusting parties to believe she had knowledge of their dogs.

Zandra Anderson's voluminous lists of falsified claims in an effort to have me fired from the Examiner:

http://freepdfhosting.com/95ca1a0cbe.pdf

http://freepdfhosting.com/6766727fe4.pdf

"Since Zandra was the only positive hope we had been given, we were terribly afraid to offend her, for fear that she would retaliate by having -------- killed.  Yes, after what Leah had done with Zandra's knowledge, we had no confidence that Zandra would act with good conscience toward us or toward any of the dogs.  Our preference would have been to tread very softly until we could return again to Conroe and to the Spindletop facility at Willis to have another and closer look to search for our Scarlett.

Of course, we subsequently made two such additional trips, without success.  And finally Zandra refused to correspond with us any further."

Many others have stepped forward on the Facebook page Spindletop Missing and Dead Dogs with their own recollections in trying to find out what happened to pets boarded at Spindletop. Many had been told, as Reunion Rescue had, that their dogs 'had been adopted by a wonderful family right down the road.' As more and more people began to share their stories, one got the feeling Wendy Torrance had when she first got her hands on Jack Nicholson's work-in-progress and realized she was dealing with a homicidal maniac. "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy," written over and over hundreds of times in his manuscript. In our case, the story 'your dog was adopted by a lovely couple down the road' was the story so many of us were fed.

Reunion Rescue's Stella who was killed at Spindletop
Zandra Anderson has issued multiple falsified documents to the Examiner in an effort to stop me from telling people what happened at Spindletop. I published these complaints in an effort to inform the public so other innocent dogs do not suffer at whatever Spindletop is being called now, Texas Equine Canine Solutions where a recent tour of the grounds revealed dogs in crates on dirt floors to one unsuspecting potential customer.

A former worker has contacted me about Stella. It seems Zandra was actually telling the truth about one small thing. Stella was not killed in the Morgan Building. Instead, "I know for a fact that Stella WAS NOT in the Morgan Building the day the ac quit working, because she was housed in the very back of the property in the largest building which I worked every day."

"I am sorry to be the one to have to tell you this , but Stella did pass away about a month before the raid took place .. I began to notice Stella loosing weight at a very high rate and was reporting to Louise Purcell daily that she needed to have proper medical attention . She never was looked at by a professional, and passed away about three week's after first sign's of her issues."

Visored Anderson stoutly negotiates with officials during the raid
According to Zandra Anderson's sworn and published 'statement, 'FALSE. Marabito alleges that Zandra Anderson 'stood on the grounds where our dogs like Reunion Rescue's Stella were buried." Not only is this false, Marabito has been told that this dog was not involved in any such incident, and this dog did not belong to Reunion Rescue as suggested.'

This statement among some 40 to 50 other false claims by Anderson in trying to clear her client of animal abuse and killing by having me fired from the Examiner. In her claims, Zandra Anderson accuses me of being 'dangerous,' 'vulgar,' 'obscene,' besides accusing me of making up the Spindletop story as 'you know or have reason to know is false, misleading or fraudulent.' My question is this. What could be more fraudulent or obscene than killing and hurting innocent animals one has been paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to protect and lying about it? Even going so far as to lead caring people on by dangling notions of their abused and killed dogs before them like a deranged kook might tease a starving dog with a morsel of food.

Spindletop Missing and Dead Dogs Facebook page is filled with stories about animals taken to Spindletop and entrusted to these monsters. If these had been children instead of dogs cast off by society, would Montgomery County allow Leah Purcell to continue her business on Calvary Road? Rumors have recently surfaced about Purcell moving to 'Marble Falls with her boyfriend' to start up a new facility.

Craig Malisow's excellent piece "No Sanctuary at Spindletop," frightening tales of animal abuse, burning dogs alive and beating animals with hammers by sex offenders ends with a dark promise by Purcell. "Purcell, he said, chalked it up to a simple "misunderstanding." He said Purcell told him something even stranger: I'll get my dogs back."

The former worker who has stepped forward recalls, "One day out of the blue about a month before the raid a guy showed up on the property driving a very large U-haul truck . He was a very odd individual and when I first met him I asked so will you be working the dogs with us? And he replied that he could not divulge the reason for his being there."

"I noticed that the back of the truck he drove was lock with a padlock. I wanted to see what was in the back. Him, April, and the Purcells were up to something very secretive and only moved and did whatever it was they were doing at nighttime."

Suspicion of a 'strange man from Louisiana' hauling off 'truckloads of dogs to be shot' have been voiced by more than one party. Was this 'U-haul' man the same character? There are so many questions left unanswered. Where are the dogs in the Spindletop Missing and Dead Dogs photo album? The ones not accounted for by Montgomery County and the Humane Society?

Why is the IRS so lenient about the hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions of dollars paid to James Brewer by myself and other animal rescuers who sent dogs to be boarded at Spindletop? Was that money taxed? Zandra Anderson runs her own 'charity' promising to

Anderson in her many untruthful claims, states, "the refuge took in dogs that were owned, then the owner relinquished any ownership rights in the placement." Does this statement account for the many suspected of being loaded up on a strange man's U-haul with a padlock at night, never to be seen again?

We'll probably never know the answer to these questions as only 'April and the Purcells' were involved in the dirty dealings. Until we have answers, the Facebook page Spindletop Missing and Dead Dogs will go on searching. Stella's photograph will remain forever on Reunion Rescue's website as a tribute and a memory. Zandra Anderson's falsified statement to the Examiner that Stella is claimed to be in Austin and 'begging for donations on a dog she contends is dead.' The great crime for any human is to hurt the animals that were placed in their care.

Zandra Anderson knows a thing or two about fundraising as she raises donations without benefit of a non profit for an outfit called 'Texas Dog Commission,' which promises to 'defeat bsl in Texas.' The emblem above Anderson's Paypal donation button reads 'the advocate for dogs & their owners.' How much of a donation would it take for us to find out where all the missing dogs went on those late night U-haul rides?

One thing is for sure. I, for one, will continue to write about and search for answers surrounding the abused and killed animals at Spindletop. Those who had a hand in hurting Stella and the other many animals at Spindletop might be going on with their lives, but I am going to be watching and waiting, even if it takes forever. That is a promise.

BSL results in DOA for another pit bull shot by cops

St. Clair Shores: Police shoot and kill yet another pit bull. According to a story in the Detroit Free Press "St. Clair Shores police officers shot and killed a pit bull mix Friday morning, saying the dog menaced several people and then charged officers who attempted to capture it."

The reader doesn't need to travel far to find out what really happened to Lexie, an 18 month old dog who was brutally shot by a cop. Stated near the end of the Detroit Free Press article, was this description:

"Preston lives at the home with her grandfather, Tom Warunek, who witnessed the shooting. He said three officers came to his door. “He said they were going to shoot the dog,” Warunek said. “She wouldn’t come in, and then he took one shot and it’s right in front of me on the side porch.”

"Warunek said the dog squealed and ran into the bushes, where the officer shot it several more times and watched the animal die."

So, the office needed to shoot Lexie several times while she was bleeding to death in the bushes? Who was he protecting....the shrubbery?

Lexie was owned by 19 year old Brittany Preston who lives with her grandfather. Preston's grandfather witnessed the gangland-style killing of an animal.

Please take a minute to thank the St. Claire Shores police department for keeping the landscape safe....safe from dying pit bulls.

The name of the officer who shot and killed Lexie is unknown. Lexie was saved by Brittany Preston when Lexie's family moved to a county which practiced BSL and does not allow pit bulls.

Shame on the cop who shot Lexie over and over while she bled to death.

New report discloses San Francisco not friendly to animals

New Report: Status of Animal Shelter Animals in San Francisco has been published by Fix San Francisco.

"FixSanFrancisco.org is a grassroots campaign working to re-energize the vision of San Francisco as a no-kill city. We are seeking to network with like-minded people, city agencies, non-profits and rescue groups. Our goal is to ensure that animals with treatable medical conditions and behavior issues have the opportunity to be adopted into good homes."

"San Francisco has a long-standing goal of protecting the welfare of our shelter animals. The No Kill movement began here, in San Francisco."

"Now, over 200 communities across the US save more than 90% of the shelter animals (i.e., all healthy
and treatable animals), but San Francisco is not one of them."

"Many animals with treatable conditions continue to be killed at San Francisco Animal Care and Control."

"FixSanFrancisco new report, "Status of Shelter Animals in San Francisco", provides an analysis of the issues and makes recommendations for how to save all healthy and treatable shelter animals in San Francisco."

"The full report and the supplemental data are available here: Status of Shelter Animals in San Francisco Appendix to Status of Animals in San Francisco. Please pass it along to anyone you think may be interested!"

Webinar with Animal Farm Foundation will discuss high kill California shelters.

Caitlin Quinn of Animal Farm Foundation will lead a WEBINAR just for California Pets Alive! and their friends on Sat, Nov 9 (10-11:30).  We've asked Caitlin to help us become better advocates for pit-bull type dogs, which are the most common breed of dog killed in California shelters.

Hate group keeps Austin really weird!!!!

Kills her own dogs at high kill shelter after letting one's tail rot off:

Stalks Reunion Rescue for years and finally latches on to LuLu, a Reunion Rescue dog..publishing lies about Reunion Rescue AND LuLu...on a fake page....LuLu never HAD heartworms and was not in the possession of some 'long lost owner'..the whole thing is a HOAX!

Not only libels and lies about Reunion Rescue, but attacks the boarding facility which helps Austin's homeless pets:

Let's not forget Rudo, a dog from this person's own community who was killed after this person and her 'group' sabotaged Rudo's fundraiser and frightened away the Oakland rescue who was set to pull Rudo. Rudo was killed with no options...after this gang chased away his own chance to live.

This fundraiser for Rudo was organized by a longtime REAL Austin Animal Center volunteer...who was SO attacked and bad mouthed, the Fundraiser people at YOUCARING attacking this person day and night over the false accusations from the hate group, the fundraiser was closed and all monies returned.

...and had the gaul to post on the fundraiser she helped to kill along with Rudo:

The gang has grown to include many affiliated with Austin Animal Center.....there will be many questions to ask and this angry mob...growing by the second...might just get the investigation they're gunning for.....fraud, theft, advising a 'Jane Doe' to kill a healthy animal, might be a shoe that fits the foot with the big fat mouth...

One thing's for sure, these questions WILL be answered.
How much damage can a bunch of nasty old ladies and a few useless creeps that hang out on hate pages with filthy pictures of Jesus do? Well, ask Rudo, ask Charlie and God knows how many other animals who've lost their lives thanks to this hate mob. LuLu is safe and yes, we DID spend $10,000 to get our dog back and wasted an entire month which could have been spent saving lives ... lives that were lost thanks to Austin Animal Center and this hate gang they've cultivated....Keep Austin weird...I don't think so.

Personally, I prefer the old Austin with LIVE animals.

Nina is an owner surrender. Her owners had her for a month and decided that another dog was too expensive, so now she’s looking for a new forever home. Nina is a playful little girl. She loves toys, but her favorites are stuffed. She would chase balls but was happiest when I tossed a stuffed toy. She’d bring it back to her spot under the bench every time. Each time I threw it, she was up and running. I bet she fetched that squirrel ten times before I decided that we both needed a break on such a hot day. Nina is sweet and affectionate. Her owners stated that she’s good with kids and got along with a male dog at home. Nina really is a perfect little puppy. Come meet this sweetie today. Maybe you can give Nina the forever home she needs!

Nellie is a real catch for any person or family. She is an absolute sweetheart of a dog – even the staff at the shelter took the time to make a note on her info sheet about what a sweet girl she is. She greeted me perfectly quietly and politely, and walked like a pro on the leash – no pulling at all, and stayed right by my side.

On my way out I asked a tech and front desk about mom and pups.  They are thought to be about 5 wks old. They are still there today and momma's date is not here yet.  She was friendly and had easily let a tech in her kennel to put her pups back in bin, when I saw her a few days ago.

Please be careful....many dogs are being pulled from this shelter and placed on huge transports going out of state and out of the country never seen or heard of again.

These two dogs were part of a cruelty investigation. They are ready for foster homes! Can anyone take them in?

Caci - neutered male, husky/collie mix, 6 mo old, 37lbs, great with other dogs, kids and people of all sizes. He will need a quiet place to rehab post surgery on his leg. He has a ruptured ACL and a torn meniscus. He won't be able to run post surgery but normal house pet is perfect.

Claude - neutered male, beagle, 10 years old, 17lbs, great with other dogs and people of all sizes. He will need to be fed desperately as he has growls when other dogs are around his food. He is HW-, current on vaccinations, microchipped and all ready for you!

Please let me know if you can take them in!

Chance, a dog who has been w/out a home for over half of his life -  382 days at the shelter!

August 13, 2013 - What exactly does it take to find a sheltered dog a home?
Professional photos which show a dog at their best? Photos which allow a dog's true personality to shine through?
Chance, a two-year-old bull terrier mix has beautiful, professional photos, but they have not lured an adopter.
Does it require a facility which will give a dog enough time to find a potential home?
Chance has spent over half of his young life at the Rockwall Animal Adoption Center in Rockwall, Texas, but during the past year (plus) nobody has been found.
