For more information on a particular dog, email adoption@nycacc.org but ONLY if serious about adopting, and ONLY if you are able to GO TO the shelter in-person. Please do not email for status updates... the only thing you will accomplish is spamming their inbox and causing REAL adopter emails to go unnoticed.

Contact the NYC ACC at (212) 788-4000 for further automated instructions.

SAN PEDRO CA HARBOR SHELTER

ZOE (A1409944) may be a bit of a long-shot, but saving a life is always worth a shot. She went into the Harbor shelter as a stray on July 19. According to the staff-person I spoke to, she does have behavioral notes: She charges at the cage and barks, and as of a few days ago, they hadn't done a medical exam yet because she was not cooperative. Then again, I have not had the good luck of speaking to particularly helpful staff at this shelter (I know they are there!).
Anyway, ZOE is listed as a 2-year old, 15-pound, unaltered female, white and black Cocker Spaniel mix. She's quite cute, and may just need some patience and understanding, outside of a shelter environment, to thrive.

These two dogs belong to a homeless woman. She is willing to let them go to a rescue or new home. The Humane Society won't take them (she adopted one of them from the HS), and the Haven for Hope won't accept them (even though they have dog kennels).

They are both fixed and the small dog is up-to-date on her shots. The small dog is a JRT mix and the larger pup is 6 months old and is a Great Pyr mix. Please contact me if you can help. I currently have her in a motel for 3 days, but on Tuesday morning, she has to be out and she will have to go to a shelter or stay outside.

Please contact me if you are interested at eunmi38@yahoo.com.

GORGEOUS in BALTIMORE, MD

Lilac and Mr. Big from cruelty case:
Lilac

We would really like to have Lilac and Mr. Big placed asap since they have been at BCAC way too long.

Lilac (small, young brindle female): she's young, friendly, happy-go-lucky, likes to carry
Mr. Big
things in her mouth. Her kennel behavior is not good (barking and jumping) but once you open the gate to walk her she becomes wiggly and much calmer. I see no reason she can't get adopted directly from the shelter but if a local rescue wants to pull her that's fine too. Lilac is 1.5 yrs. old and approx. 57 lbs. Imp. No. 000038.Mr. Big (large, fawn male): he's a friendly, great looking big dog, appears to have obedience training and walks well on leash. He loves to lay in the kiddie pool. No behavior issues that I'm aware of. I'm suggesting rescue for him not just because a rescue can do a home check. If someone refers a "good" adopter through the shelter that's fine too. I'd hate for him to be bounced around or end up in another neglectful situation. Mr. Big is 97 lbs. and is approx. 5 yrs. old. Imp. No. 000036.
